Kawasaki 650 Platform | OVERDRIVE

Four motorcycles belonging to segments that have almost nothing in common with each other, but with the exact same underpinnings. Possible? Kawasaki has done it already in case you’re still wondering whether that’s possible or not. The Kawasaki Ninja 650, Kawasaki Z650, Kawasaki Versys 650 and Kawasaki Vulcan S are the motorcycles in question and use the exact same chassis, engine and gearboxes. Heck, even their gear ratios are identical! How did Kawasaki do it? Watch this video to find out!

  1. As per my experience, Versys is altogether a different animal compared to the rest. It feels so different and sounds different from Ninja 650. I just loved it. Its heck of an adventure tourer. It does 95% of what a triumph tiger can do at just half the price.

  2. The Versys suspension is in an entirely different league than the other 3. The Ninja and Z both are a little soft up front and in the hands of a skilled rider the Versys will be the fastest around a corner. In a straight line they are all very close.

  3. I have a 2018 Ninja 650. Gorgeous to look and the ergos fit me perfectly. But ….I'm not really enjoying it that much because the vibrations in the bars are very irritating. Time to update this old parallel twin or find a way to smooth out the old one.
